Munich Airport: traveller guide
Munich offers two quite different routes: an escort through the passenger terminal and the private VipWing service. Choose the route before agreeing a pickup address. The airport identifies VipWing at Terminal 1 E, level 04, with its own directions; an ordinary Meet & Assist greeting follows the terminal and flight in the booking.
Arriving at Munich Airport
For a passenger-terminal arrival, Meet & Assist can provide a name-sign greeting and help finding the way through the required procedures and baggage collection. VipWing adds the VIP facilities and an aircraft shuttle. Tell us which experience you want, and where your onward car will wait, so the requested service ends at the right handover point.
Leaving from Munich Airport
VipWing begins with a personal welcome at its entrance and can include refreshments, private assistance and the shuttle to the aircraft. Meet & Assist is a separate escort product. The airport’s linked tariff prices Fast Track as an additional item, so it should not be promised as an automatic part of every escort. Confirm the route and extras before paying.
Coffee, food and time in the terminal
Dallmayr Bistro is behind security in Terminal 2, in the G/H gate area on level 04. The published hours are 05:00–22:00 daily. It is a useful option for coffee, pâtisserie or a meal if your boarding route gives access to that area. VipWing has its own bar and buffet; a public-terminal café visit is not a necessary part of that package.
Shopping before your flight
Use the shops in the departure area you can access and keep liquids bought for a connection sealed with their receipt. A shopping bag also needs to fit your airline’s cabin-baggage allowance. Ask for the current airport menu or retail list if a specific item or price matters.
Documents and security
Munich currently publishes a changed liquids rule at all checkpoints: containers up to two litres, with a total allowance of two litres, may remain in cabin baggage. Staff can still inspect or prohibit an item for security reasons. A connecting or return airport can have a different limit, so 100ml containers remain the more portable choice for a multi-airport itinerary.
Entry requirements: Germany
Germany applies the Schengen short-stay rules, but the right visa depends on the purpose of your trip. Check your nationality and purpose with the German Foreign Office Visa Navigator before travelling. A booking for airport assistance is not evidence of entry permission on its own.
