Frankfurt Airport: traveller guide
Frankfurt’s airport layout changed in 2026 with Terminal 3 entering operation in April. Check your airline’s current terminal before arranging airport assistance. Fraport specifically advises allowing significantly more time for VIP journeys involving Terminal 3 during its implementation phase.
Arriving at Frankfurt Airport
Fraport’s VIP arrival service offers an aircraft transfer, personal assistance with the required formalities and a visit to the private facilities. The handling route depends on the flight’s arrival terminal. Give the operator your driver’s contact information so that the final handover can be agreed; a car waiting at an ordinary terminal pickup is not automatically at the right place for a VIP exit.
Leaving from Frankfurt Airport
Fraport identifies its VIP terminal entrance at entrance 19 on Terminal 1’s arrivals level, beside hall A. This is the ground-access meeting location, not the aircraft boarding gate. Use the operator’s driving directions in your confirmation. The package can include private screening, lounge refreshments and a limousine transfer to the aircraft. Request a private suite or an external chauffeur separately if needed.
Coffee, food and time in the terminal
For passengers using the ordinary terminal route, Hausmann’s is listed in Terminal 1, area A, level 2, and also in Terminal 3, area J, level 3. Both listings publish 06:00–22:00 daily. They offer sit-down and takeaway choices, so the available time before boarding should guide the meal rather than the other way around. Published café and restaurant menus may differ between terminals.
Shopping before your flight
Frankfurt’s Duty Free & Travel Value outlets sell fragrances, cosmetics, drinks and food gifts. Look up the shop attached to your actual gate area and check the live retail catalogue for the price and pack size. A purchase elsewhere in the airport may add a detour that makes little sense on a short transfer.
Documents and security
Carry travel documents and prescribed medication where you can reach them. Follow your assigned checkpoint’s instructions rather than assuming the equipment and liquid allowance are identical across the airport. Frankfurt’s private handling does not remove border or customs requirements, nor the airline’s baggage and boarding deadlines.
Entry requirements: Germany
Germany applies the Schengen short-stay rules, but the right visa depends on the purpose of your trip. Check your nationality and purpose with the German Foreign Office Visa Navigator before travelling. A booking for airport assistance is not evidence of entry permission on its own.
